SciELO Brazil collection has 11 new titles

The 10th Meeting of the Advisory Committee of SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) Brazil, was held at BIREME/PAHO/WHO, on November 4, 2005, and approved 11 new Brazilian scientific journals that will soon be available at the site of SciELO Brazil. The Committee analyzed the applications for inclusion of 36 titles in four areas: Agrarian, Biological, Exact and Human Sciences

Hemispheric Conference contributes to developing the Avian Influenza Portal

Promoted by the Pan American Center on Foot and Mouth Disease (Panaftosa) and supported by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Hemispheric Conference on Surveillance and Prevention of Avian Influenza was held in Brasilia, DF from November 30 to December 2nd, 2005. In Tunisia and Portugal, from November 13-16, 2005, Renato Murasaki represented BIREME/PAHO/WHO in events on information and access: the meeting of the member countries of the European Current Research Information Systems (euroCRIS), when the ScienTI Network was presented; The World Summit on Information Society, which addressed the control of the Internet and digital exclusion of the developing countries, among other issues; and the meeting to implement the eLAC2007, a regional American event before the Summit
