SciELO Chile celebrates 50 titles of the online collection

The first meeting of SciELO Chile Editors, of SciELO Chile, was held on January 10-12, 2006 in Santiago, Chile, and celebrated the first 50 titles of the collection, a figure achieved in 2005. SciELO Chile currently has 50 titles in its collection, whereas SciELO Brazil, the most developed collection in SciELO network, has 157. WHO leads the initiative of VHL and ePORTUGUESe already has a site

The site ePORTUGUESe is an initiative led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and supported by BIREME/PAHO/WHO, by means of VHL and SciELO networks. Nicaragua launches Virtual Library on Gender and Health

On December 3, 2005, in Managua, at the Office of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) of Nicaragua, the Virtual Library on Gender and Health (GenSalud) was launched, which is a thematic portal of VHL in Nicaragua. Visitors to the Web site can access information on issues related to gender and health including topics such as violence, childhood and adolescence, women's health, sexual health and HIV/AIDS

XV Cochrane Colloquium will be held in Brazil, with the cooperation of BIREME

Dr.Álvaro Atallah, Director of Centro Cochrane do Brasil, an organization connected to the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo) and one of the institutions that celebrated the BIREME/PAHO/WHO maintenance agreement, issued a formal statement about the support for the organization holding the XV Cochrane Colloquium. The meeting will be held in São Paulo, between October 22 and 26, 2007. Both institutions acknowledge the need to disseminate evidence for healthcare worldwide, chiefly in the Latin America and Caribbean region
