RIPSA results from the cooperation between the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Country Office in Brazil. A pioneer initiative at BIREME/PAHO/WHO and operating regularly for over one year, the Long Distance Course on Bibliographic Search in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) has just concluded its eighth study group, with 66 students. Given via the internet, the course provides permanent tutorship and follow-up by two lecturers.
