PAHO IKM area discusses BIREME's planning for 2006-2007

Virtual Community strengthens communication at RIPSA

RIPSA results from the cooperation between the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Country Office in Brazil. The RIPSA network aims to improve the availability of basic data, indicators and analyses on health care and its trends in Brazil. SciELO, ScienTI and VHL networks were highlights at the 2nd International Seminar on Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators

The 2nd International Seminar on Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators was held in Santiago, Chile, from January 16-18, 2006. The main purpose was to analyze different aspects of scientometric indicators and to learn about the new developments and information technologies to generate these indicators. Eighth group concludes the long distance course on bibliographic search in the VHL

A pioneer initiative at BIREME/PAHO/WHO and operating regularly for over one year, the Long Distance Course on Bibliographic Search in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) has just concluded its eighth study group, with 66 students. Given via the internet, the course provides permanent tutorship and follow-up by two lecturers. Over one thousand students from practically all Brazilian states have already taken part in this course since its beginning about two years ago
