Iberian-American Cochrane Network supports Portal of Evidence at VHL

Representatives from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain and Mexico at the Iberian-American Cochrane Network met with the Director of BIREME/PAHO/WHO, in Quito, Ecuador, on March 28, 2006. After analysis of the effort, these representatives decided to support the proposal to create and operate a Portal of Evidence at the Virtual Health Library. Virtual Library SDE put available contents discussed at world forum in Mexico

The 4th World Water Forum, the largest event on water resources worldwide, was held in Mexico, between March 16 and 22. It was attended by representatives of all agencies and programs of the United Nations (UN), including CEPIS of the PAHO Sustainable Development and Environmental Health Area, which contributes to developing the VHLDE (Virtual Health Library of Sustainable Development and Environmental Health). The central theme was "Local Actions for a Global Challenge", and the event hosted 35 representatives of 15 Latin American and Caribbean countries

Quality of care to SUS users awards VHL cooperating center in Brazil

The Instituto Nacional de Traumato-Ortopedia (INTO) was granted the Certificate of International Quality by the Joint Commission International (JCI), from the US, for quality of care provided to users of the Unified Health System (SUS).
