Referential sources of information in the VHL and regional technical and scientific production

The VHL's architecture organizes and structures the sources of information (SIs) according to their function and characteristics, which facilitates their identification, operation and cooperation regarding the division of the workload relative to production and intermediation of interoperability, including navigation, retrieval of data in decentralized sources, and dynamic links between them. It therefore creates a common language that includes methodologies and tools for the decentralized operation of SIs. Thence, any resource that responds to a demand for information on the part of users, including information products and services, individuals or networks of individuals, software, etc, is considered a SI. Currently, 6 Sis comprise the VHL architecture, including the referential sources of information that contain metadata, which describe or indicate contents, forums or objects
